Chapter 2 Season 1 Rippley vs. Sludge Overtime Challenges (Fortnite Challenges Guide)

Mission Objectives

Reach Battle Pass Tier 50

No direction required - you know what to do!

Earn (3) Gold Scavenger Medals by searching chests, llamas, or supply drops

To earn a Gold Scavenger Medal, you will need to search 12 Chests, Llamas, or Supply Drops in a single match. For players who struggle to make it to the late-game phases, this may be a bit of a struggle as 12 Chests is certainly more than it sounds.

However, the absolute best location to complete this Challenge - as well as our favorite landing spot - is Camp Cod. Check out the map of its Chest spawns below.

Achieve AR Specialist Accolade in (3) different matches

To earn the Assault Rifle Specialist Accolade, you will need to deal 250 damage to opponents with an Assault Rifle in a single match.

This is equivalent to 1.25 eliminations on fully healed and shielded enemies, which is relatively easy to achieve. If you’re a player who struggles with these requirements, be sure to check out our YouTube Channel where we upload videos aimed to help you improve!

Land in a Named Location in (3) different matches

There are no perfect strategies for Challenges of this nature. But with that being said, we can still recommend you a landing spot, right?

Craggy Cliffs offers 20 Chest spawns with a nearby Landmark with an extra 3 Chests for your taking - check it out!

Deal any damage with a placed Trap to an opponent

An important note to remember while completing this Challenge is that Damage Traps can only spawn in Floor Loot and Loot Llamas, so don’t waste your time opening Chests in search of one.

You can employ one of two strategies for completing this Challenge; Placing the Trap mid-engagement with an enemy in hopes that it’ll deal damage to them, or discreetly placing the Trap in a building or near some loot in hopes that an enemy will wander into it.

Destroy (10) SLURP Barrels, SLURP Trucks, or SLURP Silos

To complete this Challenge, visit Slurpy Swamp and its surrounding areas. Here you’ll find plenty SLRUP Barrels, Trucks, and Silos which are indicated by the SLURP logo on side.

Swim 50m in under 5s

The absolute easiest way to complete this Challenge is to swim off the edge of a waterfall. Doing so will keep your player in the swimming animations - as you are technically diving - allowing you to easily swim much more than 50m.

Visit Lazy Lake and Slurpy Swamp in the same match while riding in a Motorboat

Here’s a map of the numerous Motorboat spawns around the map. Once you’ve acquired one, simply visit the two named locations.

(5) Eliminations at Risky Reels, Fort Crumpet, or Hydro 16

While Risky Reels is absolutely the most popular of these three Landmarks, you can find the Chest spawns for each of the locations below to aid you in securing the required eliminations.

Risky Reels

There are a total of 12 Chest spawns at Risky Reels.

Fort Crumpet

There are a total of 6 Chest spawns at Fort Crumpet.

Hydro 16

There are a total of 5 Chest spawns at Hydro 16.

Search the hidden gnome found inbetween Logjam Woodworks, a wooden shack, and a bucket tree

This hidden gnome can be found near a tree in the swamp Northwest of the Slurpy Swamp factories.

Catch a fish with a Fishing Rod, a Harpoon Gun, and an Explosive Weapon

To catch a fish with a Fishing Rod, simply acquire one from the barrels located on the various docks positioned near rivers and lakes. Then cast the rod into a fishing hole (indicated by the bubbles on the water's surface) and reel it in once the bobber goes underwater.

Next, to catch a fish with a Harpoon Gun, simply acquire one from floor loot, and then fire it into a fishing hole.

Finally, to catch a fish using an explosive weapon, fire the cannon attached to the Motorboat vehicle into a fishing hole until a fish is returned to the player.
