A globally-damaged Excavation Site has appeared in Fortnite's map
The Excavation Site has been cleared ahead of time, much earlier than expected. It's not-yet known what the next stage may be, stay tuned.
A new Excavation Site has popped into Fortnite's Battle Royale map near the Paradise Palms point of interest. The rocks in the pit of the Excavation Site each have 500,000,000 HP and are globally affected by player damage.
Players are able to deal 50 damage to a rock per pickaxe swing. Each rock has its own 500 million HP value, though these numbers are dropping at a rate of roughly 2,000 damage per second at the time of writing, varying depending on the rock.
This mechanic was last seen in Fortnite toward the end of Season 7 with an iceberg which revealed a bunker. It's currently unknown what is at the bottom of the Excavation Site, though a few rocks have been destroyed, revealing a large rib-like bone.
At this rate it could be a few days before all of the rocks are destroyed. We'll keep you updated on our Twitter: @FNMasterCom
