Season X Smash & Grab Challenges (Fortnite Battle Pass Guide)
Search (3) chests within 60 seconds after landing from the Battle Bus
For this Challenge you’ll want to keep in mind that Chest spawns are semi-randomized, there will not always be a Chest in a location which there was in a previous game.
Above is a map showing the total counts of potential Chest spawns for each location. If you’re struggling, remember that this Challenge does not need to be completed in a name location; consider landing in a remote location with a few potential Chests.
Land at a Hot Spot in (3) different matches
For those who are unaware, Hot Spots are randomly selected locations on the map that have a high loot rate with an increase of Supply Drops. Hot Spots are indicated by the location’s name on the map being colored gold, Loot Carriers can also be found in these locations. To complete this challenge, just land at the hot spots. You don't even have to survive the landing.
Deal (100) damage within (30) seconds after using a Launch Pad
Launch Pads can be found in floor loot, Llamas, Supply Drops, and Chests. It’s important to keep in mind that Launch Pads will only have as many hit points as the surface it is placed on.
It's strongly suggested to go into the Team Rumble mode where you’ll have multiple chances per life and you’ll respawn with your loot. Furthermore, the longer Team Rumble games go, the more you'll be able to find Launch Pads lying around, either from other players placing them or from Supply Drops.
Search 2 chests within 30 seconds of each other three times
For this Challenge you’ll want to follow the same strategy used in the first Challenge for this week. You don’t necessarily need to go to the post populated point of interest for the high Chest density, any location with multiple Chest spawns is likely to work just fine.
Here's a map with some suggested locations:
Pick up a Legendary Item in (3) different matches
For this Challenge there isn’t really any strategy or best way to go about it. You don’t even need to go out of your way to complete it, just play through the matches as you normally would and you’ll complete the Challenge before you even know it.
For the beginning players, Legendary items are the rarest tier of loot and are distinguished by the golden color.
Search a Supply Drop within 10 seconds of it landing three times
Supply Drops will always drop within the current Storm Circle. A Supply Drop spawn is indicated by a beeping sound followed by a plane sound, a blue flare can be found where one will land.
Be sure to build at least a 1x1 box around the tile in which the Supply Drop is going to land to keep yourself safe while you wait for and open it.
Deal (200) damage to opponents at Hot Spots
As previously mentioned, Hot Spots are indicated by the named location’s text being golden on the map and the presence of Loot Carriers.
Because Hot Spots are intended for early-game chaos, the best strategy for this Challenge is to get a weapon as quickly as possible and get into an engagement before the enemy has time to loot and prepare for the fight. Don’t forget that you can deal damage to downed opponents for easy Challenge completions. If you’re struggling, there’s always the Team Rumble mode - but keep in mind that Hot Spots aren’t likely to be populated after the initial phases of the match.
Search a Chest and an Ammo Box within 30 seconds after landing from the Battle Bus three times
As is the case with the previous “... within x seconds of the Battle Bus” Challenges, you do not necessarily need to go to the most populated, loot-dense point of interest to complete this Challenge. Many of the random small buildings around the map which are outside of the typical locations will have a few Chest spawns and multiple ammo boxes.
Refer to the below map of Chest spawns. Areas such as the Ice Cream Shop near the Race Track or the Haunted House West of Pleasant Park are good choices for easily completing this Challenge.
Should you choose to land at a populated location, you can hop into the Team Rumble mode so that you don’t need to worry about defending yourself after progressing the Challenge.
Destroy (3) Loot Carriers within 60 seconds after landing from the Battle Bus three times
Loot Carriers can only be found in Hot Spots, which are indicated by the location name being colored gold on the map.
Most players will likely struggle to complete this Challenge towards its initial release due to the limited amount of Loot Carriers available in a location. Don’t stress if it takes you multiple games to progress the Challenge. Remember that you only need to destroy the Loot Carrier, you do not need to obtain the loot from it.
Eliminate an opponent within 30 seconds after using a Launch Pad
For this Challenge, you’ll want to be in the Team Rumble mode so that you have multiple attempts in a single match. Launch Pads are likely not to be destroyed if they’re not readily visible to enemies, consider placing your Launch Pad on a roof and launching toward any opponents you see. If you don’t win the fight, you’ll respawn with your loot and can immediately try again.

Search (3) chests within 30 seconds of each other
This Challenge may prove difficult for some as three chests in such a little amount of time can be hard to come by. We highly suggest looking over our full Season X Chest Spawns Map and preemptively planning your route. The above map is not in a high enough resolution to see individual chest spawns, be sure to visit the full article. Consult our map from earlier for some good locations to complete the challenge.
Pick up 3 Legendary Items in a single match
Team Rumble is excellent for completing this challenge. Supply Drops spawn at a constant rate, often dropping Legendary items. Simply make it to the safe zone where everyone is fighting each other, and use your map to locate all the Supply Drops while other people are fighting.
Collect 100 of each material within 60 seconds after landing from the Battle Bus
For this Challenge, you’ll want to land somewhere which is not composed of a single resource. This typically means city-based locations which have Wooden trees, Stone buildings, and Metal buildings.
Here’s our preferred location, just East of Junk Junction. You can collect Wood from the trees surrounding the area, Stone from the walls surrounding the buildings, and Metal from the warehouses themselves.
Eliminate (3) opponents at Hot Spots
Hot Spots are named locations which are distinguished by golden text and the presence of Loot Carriers. For this Challenge, you’ll find yourself in a varying engagements ranging from up close and personal to long-range.
If eliminations are a requirement which you tend to struggle with - worry not - you can go into the Team Rumble mode where you’ll respawn and get another chance at eliminating the player who eliminated you. Be sure to land on them as soon as possible from respawn that way they have little time to recover.
