Season 7 Week 7 Fortnite Battle Pass Guide

The Week 7 challenges are out! This week's challenges are all fairly straightforward, with the more difficult challenges being limited by your aim. Our write-up this week will give you some tips on how to complete these challenges optimally, and you can check out @ItsEnergie's cheat sheet at the bottom if you want the info condensed into a small image!

Free Challenges

Visit all Expedition Outposts

Here’s what an Expedition Outpost looks like:

Here’s a map marking all their locations:

While completing this challenge, we would suggest keeping tabs on each outpost you’ve visited so you don’t visit the same place twice. It’s super easy to hit all of them in one game since all outposts have plane spawns, making it very simple to rotate to the next outpost.

We would also suggest completing this challenge alongside the “Destroy Flying X-4 Stormwings” challenge. While flying to your next location, you can scout if there’s a replacement plane at the next outpost. If so, you can try the following steps:

  • You can boost through obstacles like builds or trees to get your plane’s health low
  • Fly the plane low, directing it upwards before jumping out,
  • Shoot down the plane
  • Pick up a new plane at the next outpost. (needs testing that you can destroy your own plane)

If you need an example, look at our video in the Destroy Flying X-4 Stormwings section below!

Use a Rift or Rift-to-Go in different matches (0/3)

Here’s an updated map of all the rifts in the game:

This challenge isn’t too difficult, but there are a couple of technicalities to look out for:

  • EDITED: The Rifts underneath Wailing Woods contribute to this challenge!
  • The natural Rift spawns as marked on our map do not spawn 100% of the time
  • Rift-to-Gos are something difficult to find

Rifts are some of the best ways of rotating around the map if you don’t have a plane - using them is a matter of walking into them. If you’re not rushing the completion of these challenges, you’ll more than likely end up using 3 Rift-to-Gos at the very least in a much shorter time than expected (either to chase an enemy, disengage, or run from the storm). If you’re planning on rushing the challenges, just keep dropping in a spot with rift spawns like Viking Village or the mountains near Pleasant Park.

You can also use the permanent rifts underneath Wailing Woods! These'll make for guaranteed spawns if you're trying to rush the challenge.

Pistol Eliminations (0/3)

Here are some notes on each of the pistols to help you out:

  • Regular Pistol:
    • These are pretty weak, but with a max of 6.75 shots per second, and 40+ damage close range headshots, they function as a jank and more inaccurate SMG
    • In the early game, it’s possible to spray and pray down someone with these and a little bit of luck
  • Suppressed Pistol:
    • These are actually more powerful than most players give them credit for, with 50+ damage close range headshots, first shot accuracy, and high fire rate
    • You can use them in place of SMGs if you aren’t able to find a SMG of decent rarity
      • Shooting someone with a Shotgun and swapping to the Suppressed Pistol to finish them off is not an ineffective strategy at all
  • Dual Pistols:
    • These are a very strange weapon, mostly because they’re extraordinarily RNG based when it comes to getting kills with them
      • They’re highly inaccurate and it’s hard to reliably get headshots with them
    • However, they have a decent fire rate and pack quite a punch:
      • Landing both bullets can do 80+ damage
      • Headshotting with both bullets can do 160+ damage
    • They’re great at destroying walls, but when it comes to getting an elimination, they might be a bit unwieldy
  • Hand Cannons:
    • These are probably the best pistols if you have good aim for the following reasons:
      • First accuracy + huge damage - 75+ damage close range body shots, 150+ damage close range headshots
      • Even at long range, headshots do a minimum of 75 damage, which is an insane punch
      • They instantly destroy wooden and freshly placed brick/metal builds
    • Even with these numbers, Hand Cannons are most effective when you can trust your aim to land those headshots
  • Scoped Revolver:
    • These pistols are most effective at long range, allowing you to get solid snipes on random enemies
    • They are hitscan with first shot accuracy, dealing headshots of 80+ damage at any range
    • However, they have a low fire rate, and aren’t as good in close combat
    • Great for shooting out people in planes

The Regular, Suppressed, and Dual Pistols are all quite common, and you'll likely be able to find one of those upon landing that you might be able to use for a quick kill on someone else near you.

Otherwise, this challenge’s completion is mostly down to aim. If you need help with the basics, watch this video:

Stages 1-5: Land at ____________

  • Stage 1: Land at Salty Springs
  • Stage 2: Land at Happy Hamlet
  • Stage 3: Land at Wailing Woods
  • Stage 4: Land at Junk Junction
  • Stage 5: Land at Paradise Palm

These are extremely self-explanatory. If you're looking to chain complete these challenges, land and find a way to kill yourself instantly either by chucking a grenade or explosives at yourself or letting someone else kill you.

Search Chests at Loot Lake or Frosty Flights (0/7)

Here are the loot chest maps for both locations:

This is one of those weeks where these spawn maps will actually come in very helpful.

Normally, Loot Lake would be the worse location to complete this challenge quickly, considering that Loot Lake’s chest spawns are far more spread out and it’s hard to rotate between them easily due to lack of cover. You might find yourself in a situation where you and someone else grab chests next to each other - you’ll have to be careful and be ready to build or find some cover in this case.

Frosty Flights can get pretty crowded due to it having a good amount of loot and the most plane spawns of any location in Fortnite. In the earlier days of this challenge, it might be difficult to get a chest. In Frosty Flights, most of the chests spawn indoors, so it’ll be easier to get some loot safely. Keep an eye out for where nearby people are landing, and try to pick a chest in a clump that’s got the least people going for it. From there, loot up and rotate to the nearer chest spawns.

Destroy flying X-4 Stormwings (0/1)

This challenge is really easy to do for multiple reasons:

  • Planes are very loud and easy targets to shoot at
  • Planes do not have large health pools and ARs can shoot them down very easily
    • Other good weapons include:
      • Miniguns
      • Mounted Turrets
  • You can shoot down your own plane

The fastest way to complete this challenge is to shoot a plane very low before hopping into it. Next, you want to fly the plane upwards while still close to the ground and jump out of it. Once you jump out of it, shoot it down asap. Here's a video showing what we mean:

Stages 1-3: Deal _____ damage to opponents in a single match

  • Stage 1: Damage opponents in a single match (0/200)
  • Stage 2: Damage opponents in a single match (0/300)
  • Stage 3: Damage opponents in a single match (0/400)

This challenge is all about basics. Here are our tips:

  • The easiest time to deal damage to opponents is at the start of a game. Usually, you can always get one or two free kills by having the best landing of everyone around you
    • You want to pick a location where there aren't too many people, but one that's still got some traffic like Salty Springs or Retail Row
      • Practice dropping for a specific house or location at these places, make sure you're able to get to that spot before anyone else and pick up the loot before them
      • Generally to accomplish this, you want to have your glider deploy approximately one map grid space away from the location
  • After landing, it's all about getting loot, having your aim on point, and getting mats to build if you need to
    • Building will help you disengage or block damage, generally allowing you to play safer
    • However, having a shotgun and landing those 195+ headshots are what actually help you complete these challenges as fast as possible
  • You should be able to complete the first two stages at the place you land, but the third stage can be a bit tricky:
    • If you've run out of people to kill, you'll have to start making rotations
      • When moving around, always stay vigilant and keep an eye out for potential targets
      • Normally by this point, you won't have to do that much more damage, but it's a lot easier to die to a random sniper or a plane running you down
    • In these situations, always remember to aim before you shoot, build after taking your shots, and push for high ground advantage

You may have to take a few tries for each stage, but they're good challenges to help you improve and get better at the game!

Snowfall Challenges

Here’s this week’s Loading Screen:

Here’s the hidden tier’s location marked on a map:

The map marker doesn’t really help too much though - the battle star is by the throne inside the castle in Polar Peak. In case you haven’t really explored the castle in Polar Peak, here’s some screenshots directing you there:

Go through the main entrance:

This is the room after going through the main entrance. Follow those stairs up:

The stairs'll lead into the throne room:

Remember, you’ll have to have finished 7 weeks worth of challenges to access this Battle Pass tier.
