Season 7 Week 8 Fortnite Battle Pass Guide

Build Structures (0/250)

Here’s a straightforward and easy challenge to start the week off with. Building structures is a fundamental core mechanic of Fortnite in which you place walls, ramps, floors, or roofs to protect yourself from enemies. You should inevitably finish this challenge just playing the game. Here are our notes:

  • Finish this challenge as you’re completing the others
    • There should be no reason you would specifically be trying to finish this
  • When you’re looting up, make it a habit to break furniture and other easily destructible objects like fences, wooden pallets, and trees
    • This will ensure that you will have building materials when you need it
  • You always want to build whenever you engage an enemy - even if it’s something as simple as a ramp as a wall
    • The idea is that you want to be able to maintain a high ground advantage so that you’ll have better angles to shoot your enemy from
  • Building becomes even more important if you’re trying to disengage an enemy, as placing walls will block fire and prevent you from taking more damage

Here are a couple of videos you can watch for commonly used building strategies that you can learn to get an edge on your opponents:

Search between a mysterious hatch, a giant rock lady and a precarious flatbed (HARD)

Here is the location marked on a map:

Here is the location in game:

Place a Cozy Campfire or a Launch Pad in different matches (0/3)

The most difficult part of this challenge is actually finding the traps to place. Epic has made buffs to the Launch Pad drop rates, so they should pop up more often. You'll usually be able to find these in Supply Drops if you come across them as well.

Cozy Campfires are one of the few ways that will bump you up above 75 HP if you lose all that health. Make sure you build a nice 1x1 around you for protect before using it. Since it ticks for 2hp/second, you want to make sure you place it when you've bandaged up enough health to end up at max HP.

Launch Pads have been one of the best rotational tools in the game since their addition. Often, you'll see players build up high with ramps before placing them to get as much distance as possible. You can use them to escape the storm, jump on players, or escape from nasty situations.

While you can easily just drop these traps once you find them for challenge completion, we'd suggest holding onto them and using them properly later in the game.

Stages 1-3: Visit ___ and ___ in a single match (0/3)

Stage 1: Visit Paradise Palms and Salty Springs in a single match

Stage 2: Visit Junk Junction and Loot Lake in a single match

Stage 3: Visit Haunted Hills and Wailing Woods in a single match

To complete this challenge, simply hop into a plane and fly to both locations. Here’s a map of plane spawns:

The tricky part about this challenge is that plane spawns have been reduced to 50% over the past couple of months, so nabbing a plane might be a bit more difficult. We’d suggest landing at a spawn location with 3 or more planes, as it’ll be statistically likely to have at least one plane which you can go straight for. If you can't get a plane, you could try looking for a quadcrasher or seeing if there are other challenges you can still complete.

Search chests at Shifty Shafts or Lonely Lodge (0/7)

Here are the maps for both locations:

While we haven’t updated the Lonely Lodge map to include the snow quite yet, we can assure you that you will find chest spawns at those locations. Here are some notes on both locations:

Shifty Shafts:

  • While Shifty Shafts may look like the chests are more tightly placed, they’re actually still a bit spread out due to elevation
    • The easiest chests to get are at the houses to the west usually
  • Be careful of how many people might be landing there, as there aren’t that many spawns to go around
  • Fighting in the mines can be a bit tricky due to how maze-like they are
    • They’re generally wide enough that you can build a few structures, but getting high ground will be tough because the ceiling can be lower in certain places
    • The natural cover differs greatly based on which parts of the mines you’re in too
    • You’ll likely need to visit the mine a few times for practice before you get familiar with the place’s layout
  • You’ll generally be having short-medium range fights while in the mines, but you’ll likely need an AR if you’re pushing out of them

Lonely Lodge:

  • The Lonely Lodge chests are a bit spread out, but you should be able to find a spawn or two that will be uncontested
  • The main Lodge building usually has a few people trying to loot it, so be aware of how many enemies are there before you land
    • You can land on top of a chest spawn, but there’s also a lot of floor loot in the building that could have shotguns which you should keep an eye out for
  • There are mushrooms everywhere that you can consume for shield
  • Landing at the tower might be tricky if someone else is contesting you
    • We generally prefer to avoid contesting someone in tall buildings unless you know you’ll win it 100%
    • If you do contest someone, there’s a solid chance you could pickaxe them to death before they get a gun if you land at the same time
  • Generally, you'll end up in medium-long range firefights throughout the area, so prioritize having an AR and getting some mats

Deal damage to opponents whilst riding on a vehicle (0/100) (HARD)

This is a little more challenging than usual, but isn't too bad as dealing damage while piloting a plane contributes to this challenge.

To complete this challenge, you must deal damage to opponents from as long as you're in a vehicle. The easiest way is to hop into a plane and find people to dive bomb. Another really good way to complete the challenge is by hijacking a plane - this involves you using a Glider redeploy or a Rift-to-Go or some similar item to put you at a good height, which you can use to board a passenger seat on a plane and shotgun the pilot. While it is possible to complete this challenge by driving or piloting a vehicle, getting into an engagement, and swapping to the passenger seat to shoot people, the alternatives are much simpler. Here is a video on piloting planes if you need assistance with the controls:

Explosive Weapon Eliminations (HARD) (0/3)

This is a generally simple challenge - explosives do huge amounts of damage and are generally quite easy to get eliminations with (especially the Rocket Launcher). Execution of the challenge might be a little tricky, but here are some tips that will help:

  • Play in an LTM
    • There are plenty of LTMs where it’ll be easier to find a Rocket Launcher which will trivialize this challenge
  • Grenades and Grenade Launchers are difficult to use because they’re tricky to aim - however, they’re highly effective against players who are turtling or hiding in rooms/basements.
    • If you find an early stack of grenades, often you’ll come across a scenario where someone is hiding in a room
      • You can easily chuck these nades at them and watch them struggle to survive
  • Dynamite is a little trickier as they don’t do that much damage per hit
    • We would usually suggest using one of the other options
    • However, know that Dynamite has a 5 second fuse that starts once you start to aim it
      • You can count down this fuse and try to time when you throw it so that it explodes mid-air and damages your enemy
      • With any luck, you could get a cheeky elimination this way for the challenge
