Season 8 Week 1 Fortnite Battle Pass Guide
Visit all pirate camps (0/7)
Here is what a pirate camp looks like:
Here is a map marking all the pirate camps on the map:
Since the removal of planes, this challenge got a little bit more difficult. However, Quadcrashers and Driftboards remain in the game. You can use these vehicles to traverse vast distances quite quickly as well if you use their boost correctly. We would suggest picking up one of them to complete this.
Remember that you don’t have to visit all of them in the same game, so you can take your time.
Search chests at Retail Row or Junk Junction (0/7)
Here are the chest maps for both locations:
Depending on the Battle Bus route, Junk Junction might be the easier location to get some chests. Retail Row is usually pretty crowded, so you’ll likely have to fight for a few of them. Remember, pick a chest spawn, and go straight for it.
Stages 1-3: Deal damage with ___________ in a single match
Stage 1/3: Deal damage with a Shotgun and an Explosive Weapon in a single match:
This challenge is relatively easy, any amount of damage will do. The damage can be dealt at any time in the match, other weapons can be used without negating the challenge progress.
The shotgun part is really easy. As is the case with the following Elimination challenge though, the hardest part will be locating an explosive weapon. Try to keep the Clingers and Dynamite you find, as they’re the most likely ones to be found. If you time the fuses correctly with Dynamite, you ought to be able to get a hit off on anyone.
Stage 2/3: Deal damage with a Pistol and an Assault Rifle in a single match:
This part is really easy, considering the wide availability of Pistols and ARs in the game. You should remember to make good use of first shot accuracy and get a guaranteed hit on your targets.
Stage 3/3: Deal damage with an SMG an a Sniper in a single match
Stage 3 can be tricky if you do not have a good shot with Sniper Rifles. We recommend sitting back and monitoring a highly populated area, taking shots until one hits. The other obvious strategy would be to get up close and personal - attempting to land a no-scope shot, but this isn’t a viable strategy as other players will likely eliminate you with a shotgun rather quickly.
SMGs are simple though, just spray in the general direction of an enemy and you’ll likely score a hit.
Battle Pass Challenges
Visit a giant face in the desert, the jungle, and the snow (0/3)
Here are images of all the faces:
You can find them at where the markers point to on this map:
Use a Volcano Vent in different matches (0/5)
Here’s what the volcano vents look like:
You can find most of them as marked on this map below. The smaller markers point to exact locations, while the bigger markers point to locations where there are a lot of them together.
Here’s what it looks like to use one in game:
You’ll have to play 5 different games to finish this challenge. It’s a good chance to explore the new areas of the map though!
Get an elimination with a Shotgun, Assault Rifle, and Explosive Weapon
Here are the weapons available at the moment for this challenge:
This challenge is rather simple but can prove depending on your skill level. You can use any rarity of the weapon as long as it fits the weapon class.
For Shotguns, getting an elimination is rarely a problem. They have a huge reticle and do a ton of damage, easily picking people off in the early game. If you find yourself missing a lot with the Pump, look for a Blue Tact - it'll help immensely.
For ARs, you need to aim a little more. This video'll give you the right tips for it:
The Explosives part of this challenge will prove the most difficult. It is quite tough to find Grenade Launchers or Rocket Launchers in general, so you might want to try out Clingers and Dynamite. Clingers are great for early game elims, especially if you get a stick on a no-shield target. Dynamite will be tricky as they don't do very much damage, so you have to weaken the enemy with a few pot shots first. If you do get the luck to find a Rocket Launcher, be careful not to blow yourself up. A good combination would be to blast the enemy with your Shotgun first and then switch to a Rocket Launcher to finish off the kill. The Grenade Launcher can be a bit unwieldy, so try to stick to the other options.
Deal Damage to a vehicle driven by an opponent (0/200)
The hardest part of this challenge is finding an enemy which is driving a vehicle. Patch v8.00 vaulted the X-4 Stormwing Planes, Shopping Carts, and ATKs which decreases the overall amount of vehicles on the map at any given time.
The current vehicles in this game are:
The good thing about this challenge is that if there is an enemy driving a vehicle, you’re bound to hear it. Quadcrashers are especially loud and easy to hit.
Our best advice would be to prioritize the challenge over the elimination when you spot an enemy player in a vehicle. Deal as much damage as possible to the vehicle until the player exits and engages the fight.
We suggest using a Suppressed Assault Rifle as it has the potential to deal a large amount of damage in a short amount of time. It will also initially hide your location from the enemy player, giving you time to deal even more damage. Any Assault Rifle really would do the trick though. A good shoutout to the Rocket Launcher as well!
UPDATE: The Pirate Cannons may count as vehicles for the purposes of this challenge too. We're not the most certain, but it's worth a shot! (no pun intended)
UPDATE 2: Damaging a Mounted Turret used by an enemy also counts towards this challenge's completion

You can see the battle star on top of a tower in one of the new locations, Lazy Lagoon. Here’s a picture of it in game:
