Season 9 Week 2 Fortnite Battle Pass Guide
Launch off of (5) Air Vents in different matches – 5 Battle Stars
Here is a map of all locations where Air Vents can be found. Air Vents can be found in points of interest such as Neo Tiled and Mega Mall, as well as on all Sky Platforms.
The easiest way to complete this Challenge would be to land and loot near a Sky Platform, then leave the game and requeue into another lobby another 4 times.
Land at ___ - 5 Battle Stars
- Stage 1: Snobby Shores
- Stage 2: Fatal Fields
- Stage 3: Sunny Steps
- Stage 4: Dusty Divot
- Stage 5: Happy Hamlet
This Challenge should prove to be extremely easy for all players as you simply need to jump from the Battle Bus and land at the required point of interest. In the event that you forget to land at the desired location, you can use a Launch Pad to fly in and land where needed.
Eliminate (3) opponents in Sunny Steps or Shifty Shafts - 10 Battle Stars
Here is a map of the Chest spawns at both Sunny Steps and Shifty Shafts. Sunny Steps has a slightly higher overall amount of Chests, but due to the location of each point of interest and the negligible difference in loot, either location will have more than enough enemies to complete this Challenge.
Due to the distance from Neo Tilted, Shifty Shafts is likely to be the more populated of the two, so if you are struggling to find enemies at Sunny Steps, try Shifty Shafts. Some additional notes:
- The buildings can be really tricky to navigate, and the big ziggurat tends to not have the most cover inside.
- We would suggest avoiding fighting indoors if you’re unused to the location, because there’s a lot of angles to watch out for that could catch you off guard
- A good amount of chest spawns can be spotted from the air, so keep an eye out for them
- The surrounding areas have a lot of Expedition Outposts with a good number of chest spawns
- Feel free to land at those outposts for a bit of loot before pushing into the location
- The mines are always really easy to get lost in, even if you’ve landed at the location a bunch
- You won’t be able to hide from anything while inside the Shafts, so make sure you’re hitting stuff with your pickaxe as you loot so you can build for cover
- The houses are the most straightforward places to find loot and get a quick early elimination or two, but they tend to be more crowded
- You should keep an eye out for which side of Shifty will attract more players, and then make your landing decision based off that
- Generally, staying outside the Shafts will make your life easier when it comes to surviving as there’s more space to build and move
Battle Pass Challenges
Deal (500) damage with Pistols to opponents – 5 Battle Stars
Here are your choices for this Challenge: Dual Pistols, Hand Cannon, Flint-Knock Pistol, and Suppressed Pistol.
The Hand Cannon has the highest damage output of the available options, making it a good choice if you can aim well with it. It’s pretty simple to chunk out people with slow and calculated headshots.
Pistols are intended for close-range combat, because of this, landing at populated locations such as Neo Tilted will pair well for completing this Challenge. They’re usually best used at the start of the game where people will be landing near you, and you can generally spray and pray for a kill or two. The Suppressed Pistol tends to be very accurate at medium ranges as well, so feel free to aim slowly with them while at a distance.
The Flint-Knock Pistol isn’t really suggested as an option if you’re trying to finish this challenge quickly, but it does pack a decent punch with headshots. We’d keep it for mobility purposes instead of combat though.
Don’t feel stressed about getting all 500 damage done in one game - if you keep queuing into new lobbies, you’re bound to finish this eventually.
Visit an oversized Phone, a big Piano, and a giant Dancing Fish Trophy – 5 Battle Stars
Here is a map showing the locations of the oversized Phone, the big Piano, and the giant Dancing Fish Trophy.
If the circle permits it, we recommend landing at and gearing up at Fatal Fields, then visiting the oversized Phone. Next, make your way toward Mega Mall and visit the giant Dancing Fish Trophy. Lastly, visit the big Piano located near Lonely Lodge.
The aforementioned oversized Phone can be found west of Fatal Fields.
If you’d prefer to take an alternate route, another oversized Phone can be found east of The Block.
The big Piano can be found east of Lonely Lodge on the edge of the map. While the Piano is interactable, it is only required that you visit it, this will likely be used in a future Challenge.
Giant Dancing Fish
The giant Dancing Fish can be found southwest of Mega Mall lodged into the roof of a small house. As with all of the fish plaques found around the map, this fish will dance if you use an emote near it.
Search a Chest in (3) different Named Locations in a single match – 10 Battle Stars
This Challenge should prove to be extremely easy for the majority of players. If you’re struggling we recommend landing at and making your way between the lesser populated points of interest such as Junk Junction, Haunted Hills, and Frosty Flights. You can grab a Quadcrasher or Baller nearby Junk Junction to make the rotations really easy.
Eliminate an opponent from at least ____ away – 10 Battle Stars
- Stage 1: 50m
- Stage 2: 75m
- Stage 3: 100m
Snipers can be the best tool for completing this Challenge due to their ranged capabilities. The best strategy is to maintain high-ground and attempt to eliminate opponents in the distance. For example, sitting on top of the main tower in Neo Tilted and sniping players near Loot Lake or rotating in from Snobby Shores may prove effective. However, they do tend to be a bit more difficult for new users to use.
Luckily, you can very easily complete this challenge using Assault Rifles - Not only do they do lots of damage from a distance, but they’re also very accurate when you use first shot accuracy properly by tap firing. If you really need it, the Scoped Assault Rifle helps greatly with aiming as well.
Our last piece of advice is that if the opportunity is given, you could third-party an existing fight from a distance for an easy long-range elimination.
As usual, thanks to @ItsEnergie for his weekly cheat sheet!
